Bill Ellerton was named after his grandfather, a WW1 veteran and POW, who was also named Charles William Ellerton and carried the nickname Bill.
Bill arrived in Australia as a teenager. A couple of years later, his Dad had a heart attack, which he survived, but he couldn’t go back to his old job. At 16 and the eldest of 4 children, Bill had to forgo his dreams of going to University and becoming an Architect and had to get a job. His first was as a labourer in a can factory, a far cry from his later roles of leading large solutions teams for international technology companies across Australia and New Zealand.
Bill didn’t give up on his dream of getting a university education. Studying both full and part-time over the years he obtained tertiary qualifications in telecommunications, electronics, management, and information systems along with a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
He has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Programs and is currently studying Architectural Science.
One of Bill’s lifelong characteristics is persistence. A never-give-up attitude that has served him well. He is a values-driven man of integrity. He’s not a loud-mouthed man, but rather a quietly spoken thinker. The quiet achiever type.
Bill has extensive experience leading divisions of international technology companies across Australia and New Zealand. His expertise has been called upon to assist overseas divisions of those companies to establish and improve their services across Asia Pacific and to participate in Global Sales Excellence programs.
Bill has also spent time working as a Registered Builder / Construction Manager and in the Financial Services Sector. Helping a Superannuation Fund with billions of dollars under management to upgrade its IT systems and manage its outsourced service providers.
Having worked for large technology companies, Bill has been fortunate to have worked with a wide range of customers across many industry sectors including; Manufacturing, Financial Services, Pharmaceutical, Mining and Metals, Healthcare, Postal Automation and Supply Chain, Maritime, Food and Beverage, Defence, Automotive, Oil and Gas, Infrastructure, Building and Construction.
